Michael Thomas Brennan, 88, of East Jordan, died Monday, November 15, 2021, in Charlevoix.
He was born on April 1, 1933, in East Jordan, the son of John Bernard "Bun" and Catherine Eileen (Farmer) Brennan. He grew up in East Jordan and graduated from East Jordan High School in 1951.
Mike served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.
On April 27, 1961, in East Jordan, he married Mary A. Martinek and raised five children.
He worked as a mechanic at the former Spike’s Standard Gas Station on Main Street in East Jordan, now the site of the East Jordan Police Station. Mike was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in East Jordan.
Michael is survived by five children, Michael (Laura) Brennan of Traverse City,
Thomas (Tina) Brennan of East Jordan, Timothy (Wendy) Brennan of Wendell, North Carolina, Theresa (Brian) Radde of South Lyon and Joseph (Jamie) Brennan of Dyer, Indiana; fifteen grandchildren; one brother, James (Janet) Brennan of Battle Creek; one sister, Elizabeth (Anthony) Nessel of East Jordan; two sisters-in-law, Bedella Brennan of East Jordan and Joanna Brennan of East Jordan; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary A. Brennan on March 1, 2017; his parents; four brothers, Jerry Brennan, Stephen Brennan, John “Jack” Brennan and Patrick Brennan; and two sisters-in-law, Ilene Brennan and Charlene Brennan.
No services are scheduled at this time. The family was served by the Penzien Funeral Homes, Inc., East Jordan.
