Michelle R. Nowka

  Michelle R. Nowka, 59, went to be with her Lord, on Monday, October 24, 2022, in the presence of her family at her home in East Jordan.

  She was born on October 25, 1962, in Detroit, Michigan.  She graduated in 1981 from Our Lady of Mercy High School in Farmington. She had attended Madonna College in Livonia.  She then worked at Wishing Well Manor, a nursing home owned by her parents.

  Michelle later received a degree in Laboratory Technology and then relocated to South Arm Township where she worked at the East Jordan Family Health Center as a medical assistant for six years. 

  Michelle has been the owner & operator of “At Your Service Plus”, a portable sanitation, service in East Jordan for the past twenty-two years.

  She was also a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the St. Anne’s Altar Society, both in East Jordan.   

  Michelle enjoyed any and all outdoor activities.  Most of all, Michelle loved spending time with her family and friends.

  She is survived by two children, Grant (Heather Andor) Nowka and Michayla Nowka; a granddaughter, Lilly Nowka; her mother, Constance “Connie” Nowka; her brother, James (Cathy) Nowka; niece, Renée (Ben) Wiklanski; two nephews, James D. (Ashley) Nowka and Stephen (Kristi) Nowka; one great nephew, Wyatt Nowka; and three great nieces, Hannah Nowka, Emma Nowka and Abby Lee Nowka. She was preceded in death by her father, Donald J. Nowka on November 18, 2011.

  A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, East Jordan. 

  The family will receive friends on Friday, November 4, 2022, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Penzien Funeral Homes, Inc. in East Jordan, with a rosary service at 7:30 P.M.

  Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Joseph Catholic Church, East Jordan.
