Paul Anthony Brusse, Sr., 76, known as the “Warden of Miles Road”, died on Friday, December 12, 2025, in Charlevoix.
He was born on March 9, 1949, in Detroit.
He grew up in Detroit and graduated from Alma High School in 1966.
Paul served in the United States Army.
He worked as a heavy equipment mechanic.
Paul loved working and his cats. He enjoyed White Castle burgers and Lafayette coney dogs. He loved “shooting the shit” with his friends at local mechanic garages, junkyards and restaurants, especially the South Arm Café in East Jordan and the Lunch Box Restaurant in Bellaire. He had a great interest in anything with an engine, going to the Buckley Old Engine Show as well as any auctions. He enjoyed any power sports racing and collected kerosene lanterns.
He is survived by daughter, Cindy Brusse of Jackson; son, Paul A. (Bekki) Brusse, Jr. of East Jordan; five grandchildren, Lillie “Lillie Bell”, Jayden “Meat Head”, Jaylyn ‘Brat”, Avah-Jane “Peanut” and Koltyn “Bee Bop”.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Bair; five brothers, David, Charles, John, Dale and Harold.
A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, January 9, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at the Lighthouse Missionary Church, East Jordan. Rev. Bart Adams will officiate. The family was served by the Penzien Funeral Homes, Inc., East Jordan, MI.
