Paul Kenneth Schmidt, 80, passed on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at his home in East Jordan.
He was born on April 19, 1945, in Elmhurst, Illinois, the son of Kenneth and Clara (Keimel) Schmidt.
Paul grew up in Northern Wisconsin and graduated from Lakeland High School in 1963. He received his Associate Degree from North Central Michigan College in Petoskey.
He served in the United States Navy from 1966 to 1970.
Paul had worked at the Auto Value Parts Store in Boyne City.
Paul had a passion for music. He played guitar, left handed and all by ear, for over 60 years in bands like “TNT New Times” and “The Two Beats” with John Slough and himself.
He loved all sports including ping pong, basketball and waterskiing. Paul was an avid bowler. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by a son, Paul Joseph (Elisa) Schmidt of Lansing; a daughter, Andrea Calabrese of Lansing; a grandson, Eddie of Flint; a sister, Karen Lukas of Falmouth, Maine; a brother, Mike (Sharon) Madden of Tennessee; and a very dear significant other, Darlene Bolser of East Jordan.
A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 2:00 P.M. at the Faternal Order of Eagles, 106 River St, Boyne City, MI 49712.
