Peter Paul Lewis, 89, of East Jordan, died Saturday, April 23, 2022, in Traverse City.
He was born on January 5, 1933, in East Jordan, the son of Samuel and Zella (Ellis) Lewis. Peter served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.
On December 25, 1956, in Petoskey, he married Joan L. Hannon.
Peter worked 20 years in East Jordan for Dura, a company specializing in parts for the automotive industry.
He enjoyed tractors, cars, hunting and the serenity of working in the woods.
Peter is survived by his wife, Joan L. Lewis of East Jordan; eight children, Peter Paul (June) Lewis, Jr. of East Jordan, Patricia Crego of Bellaire, Deb (Ken) Groesser of Ellsworth, Steve (Jan) Lewis of East Jordan, Joe (Bonnie) Lewis of East Jordan, Sam Lewis of East Jordan, Mindy Cool of East Jordan and Patrick (Penny) Lewis of East Jordan; numerous grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; six sisters, Marjorie Bunker of Grand Rapids, Beatrice “Bea” Close of Ishpeming, Marilyn (Don) Bronell of Central Lake, Linda Smoka of Rogers City, Sharon Lavanway of East Jordan and Sally Lewis of Manistique; one brother, Sam (Kathy) Lewis of Bellaire; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life gathering will take place on Saturday, August 13, 2022, at 1:00 P.M. at the Lewis Farm at 2821 Lewis Road, Echo Township, Antrim County, Michigan.
