Phillip Mark Camilleri, 70 of East Jordan, died peacefully at home on August 14, 2021.
He was born September 17, 1950 in Detroit - the first son of Francis and Olga Camilleri. Phillip is preceded in death by both of his parents and his brother John Camilleri.
Phil grew up in Dearborn, Michigan where he attended Sacred Heart Catholic School, graduating in 1968. He relocated to Northern Michigan in the early 1970's and settled in Eastport. Phil was a founding partner of DCL Inc. in Charlevoix.
A severe accident in 2009 left Phil with a traumatic brain injury, but it did not diminish his spirit. Following his injury, he settled in East Jordan and developed a deep appreciation for the local community. Phil will be remembered for his boundless energy, generous spirit, and his enthusiasm for boats and bicycles.
Surviving Phillip are his siblings Beth (Christopher) Cowie of Washington, DC; Patrick (Beth) Camilleri of Minneapolis, MN; and Mary Camilleri (Edward Stanley) of Mendon, VT.
The daily Mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church in East Jordan will be said for Phillip at 8:00 am on Friday, September 17. Following Mass, a public blessing will be offered at 10:30 am at the waterfront at Memorial Park, 101 Spring Street, East Jordan, MI 49727.
