Phillip Osterman, 80, died Saturday, September 10, 2022, at his home in East Jordan.
He was born on December 13, 1941, in Muskegon, the son of Peter Roche and Florence Eileen (DeLong) Osterman. He grew up in Hesperia. He graduated from Hesperia High School and received his bachelors degree from Michigan State University.
He had taught high school for a total of ten years, including Ellsworth High School, Lincoln Alcona High School and Hesperia High School. Later he took up masonry and construction field from 1980.
On October 2, 1985, in LasVegas, Nevada, he married Janet Sue Billman.
Phillip is survived by his wife of 36 years, Janet Sue Osterman of East Jordan; two daughters, Lori Barrie of Kalkaska and Lisa Dean of East Jordan; 6 grandchildren, Cody Dean, Jazon LaFleche, Connor Dean, Autumn (Justin) Baynton, James Moore, Bella Barrie; two brothers, Ken (Anita) Osterman of Fremont and John (Sue) Osterman of White Cloud; three sisters, Christine Osterman of Hesperia, Lora (Jerry) Dickinson of Fremont and Barbara Hines of Show Low, Arizona; as well as several niece and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, Joshua Standen; and one brother, Robert Osterman.
