Richard “Dick” Raymond Obituary

 

  Richard “Dick” William Raymond, Sr., 81, died on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at his home in East Jordan.

  He was born on August 5, 1944, in East Jordan, the son of Ernest and Joyce (Kamradt) Raymond.

  He graduated from East Jordan High School in 1962.

  Dick worked forty-on years for the East Jordan Iron Works, now known as EJ, USA.  He retired as a supervisor/pattern maker in 2009.

  He married Star Wallace on February 1, 1975, in East Jordan.

 He was advocate and player of many sports throughout his life, basketball softball, bowling and golf.  Golf being his lifelong passion.  He coached an East Jordan Little League team and served as a Little League umpire.  Dick was always actively working.

  He loved watching his kids and grand kids at all of their sporting events.  They all remember his passioned boisterous cheering.

  Dick is survived by his wife, Star Raymond of East Jordan; seven children, Richard “Rich” Raymond, Jr. of East Jordan, Kelly (Chris) Matelski of Boyne Falls, Kevin (Vangie) Raymond of Saucier, Mississippi, Kirk (Jennifer) Raymond of Wolverine, Jim Raymond of East Jordan, Shannon (Bill) Fuller of East Jordan and Chad (Ann) Raymond of Shorewood, Minnesota; twenty grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; four siblings, Phil (Betty) Raymond of Howell, Duane (Donna) Raymond of Grandville, Louie (Sonya) Raymond of Charlevoix and Doug Raymond of East Jordan; one sister-in-law, Juanita Parker of Ness, Kansas; as well as several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by four sibling, Charles “Chet” Raymond, James Raymond, Linda McKay and Eleanor Chanda.

  A gathering of family and friends will be held Saturday, August 8, 2026, 1:00 to 4:00 P.M. at 301 Mill Street, East Jordan, MI.  Arrangements by the Penzien Funeral Homes, Inc., East Jordan.  In honor of Dick, donations may be directed to AdvisaCare Hospice.
