Robert (Bob) Kroll, 93, of Boyne City, Michigan, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, December 3, 2022.
He was born October 19, 1929, to Charles and Eleanor (Mensinger) Kroll of Boyne City.
Robert married Mary Jane of Chicago and raised two children in Palatine, IL, a Chicagoland suburb, before returning to Boyne City, MI, to retire in the early 1990s.
He was a lifelong craftsman. In his younger years, he worked as a bricklayer, taking on a memorable role in laying over 60 floors of the 1128-foot, 100-story Chicago skyscraper formerly known as The John Hancock Center. Eventually, he found his calling as a master painter and paperhanger, lovingly nicknamed "Brush" by his closest friends. In his off-time, he loved woodworking, tinkering with collectible cars, attending flea markets and swap meets, and could never pass up a good garage sale. He will be remembered for his engaging and joyous storytelling.
Robert was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Jane, and sisters, Margie (Keith) Fitzpatrick and Virgie (Don) Peck. He is survived by his son Glenn (Joanne) Kroll, daughter Linda (Robert) Moloznik, grandchildren Doug Mack, Ryan Rieke, Steven Kroll, Sarah Kroll, Kevin Kroll, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Private cremation has been entrusted to Penzien Funeral Home, East Jordan.
