Robert “Bob” Prebble Obituary

Robert “Bob” G. Prebble, of Boyne City, passed away on October 4, 2025 at home.

Bob was born in Boyne City, but as he always told everyone, it was a little white farmhouse on Korthase Road.  His birth cost his father a steer, paid to Dr. Conkle.

Bob grew up on the farm his family purchased in 1941, outside of East Jordan. Bob attend East Jordan schools and graduated in 1956. He lived his entire life between East Jordan and Advance.

In school, he met his wife Jane (Jackson) Prebble. They have been married 68 years.

He is survived by his wife Jane; four children, Linda Cristallo of Cape Elizabeth, ME, Cathrine Zavesky of Hendersonville, TN, Pamela (Scott) Randall of Flagstaff, AZ and Robert Lewis Prebble Fort Myers, FL; a sister, Suzi (Robert) Hart; two sister-in-laws, Beth (Ray) Prebble and Karen Nipson; 5 grandchildren, Tiffany (Zavesky) Baxter, Bobbie (Zavesky) Jones, Jessica Cristallo, Erica (Randall) Parlaman, Cody Prebble; 8 great-great grandchildren, Olivia, Vera, Piper Baxter, Kensington, Wesley Lefkowitz, Presley, Penny Jones and Eliza Parlaman.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lewis Prebble; mother, Iva (Kitson) Prebble; and brothers, Raymond "Ray" Prebble and Ronald "Pete" Prebble.

Bob was a member of the Boyne City Lions for more than 50 years. He was treasurer for the Lions, helped build the Lions Cabin at Camp Daggett and the first concession trailer.

Bob enjoyed growing vegetable and flower gardens. He enjoyed putting the extra vegetables by the road to share with neighbors and community.

He enjoyed bowling and he loved golf. You would find him on the golf course with his friends as much as possible.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Interment will be at Sunset Hill Cemetery East Jordan MI.
