Ronald Andrew Florenski, Sr., 87, of Alba, died on Friday, September 13, 2024, at his daughter’s home in Elmira.
He was born on November 6, 1936, in Petoskey, the son of Stanley and Frances (Prawdzik) Florenski.
He married Edna Lorraine Muma on July 18, 1959, in Gaylord.
Ronald owned and operated the family business, Ron’s Well Drilling, in Alba. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, car racing and playing music. He played guitar and mandolin in a polish band. He also loved dirt car racing in his 1950’s Studebaker.
He served on the Alba Fire Department Board for several years.
He is survived by three children, Ronald Florenski, Jr. of Alba, Catherine Florenski of Elmira and Eugenia (Mark) Gray of Alba; four grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; one brother, Richard (Elta) Florenski of Powers; three sisters, Bonnie (William) Sparks of Boyne Falls, Susan Madison of Boyne City and Patricia Jarema of Alpena and Boyne City; as well as several nieces and nephews. Ronald was preceded in death by his wife, Edna on July 13, 2015; his parents; one sister, Mary Florenski; and three brothers, Robert Florenski, Rudolph Florenski and Ralph Florenski.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 20, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at the Penzien Funeral Homes, Inc. in East Jordan. Rev. Bart Adam will officiate.
