Russell William Ballard

  Russell William Ballard, 69, of East Jordan died Saturday, January 22, 2022, at Munson Health Care Charlevoix Hospital in Charlevoix.

  He was born on April 18, 1952, in Bellaire, the son of Charles Albert and Evelyn June (Olds) Ballard.  Russell graduated from Fulton High School in 2009.

  Russell had worked eleven years at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island, over 15 years as a grounds keeper at Boyne Mountain, Boyne Falls; for a short time at East Jordan Iron Works, now known as EJ, USA; and also for a Boyne Falls company building log homes.

  He enjoyed watching old western movies and fishing.

  He is survived by two brothers, Albert E. Ballard of Chehalis, Washington and Robert D. (Cindy) Ballard of East Jordan; three sisters, Coralyn (Sheldon) Crouch of Elmira, Valma R. Hoover of Clarksville, Tennessee and Carol J. (Richard) Lord of East Jordan; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Albert Ballard and Evelyn (Olds) Ballard; and one niece, Jessica Mare (Ballard) Robtoy.

   A memorial service is will be held on June 4, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. at the Lighthouse Missionary Church, East Jordan.  Rev. Bart Adams will officiate.  Interment will be in Star Township Cemetery, Alba, MI.
