Sandra Anne “Sandy” Fuson, 86, of East Jordan, died Wednesday, April. 15, 2026, at Grandvue Medical Care Facility, East Jordan.
Sandy was born to Tom and Anne Knebl on November 24, 1939, in Detroit, Michigan. She was the oldest of six children who were devotedly raised by their parents to love Jehovah God. Because of this, she dedicated her life to Him and got baptized in her youth. She even took time during her summers as a teenager to “vacation pioneer”, sharing Bible truths with her neighbors. Coming from a Bohemian background, music was a big part of her family growing up, where she learned to play the piano and loved to sing, even performing along with her sister, Diane.
She met Jack Fuson at a congregation hayride and they were married on July 21, 1962. Soon after, they started a family. After living in Saint Clair Shores for a time, they moved their now growing family up north in 1976, and made East Jordan their home, being part of the East Jordan Congregation for 50 years.
As a homemaker, this is where Sandy cherished and raised their five children in the way of the truth, loved working outside gardening and even more so, loved their grandchildren & great grandchildren as if they were her own.
Being a people person, she could strike up a conversation with anyone and because of this she made a good name for herself and Jehovah in the community.
In her later years, she put forth great effort despite advancing age to take part in preaching by letter writing and participating in congregation meetings, still encouraging ones with her heartfelt comments. She held the hope of the earthly resurrection dear to her heart and one of her favorite scriptures to share was 2 Cor. 1:3, 4 “Praised be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our trials so that we may be able to comfort others in any sort of trial with the comfort that we receive from God.” And right up to the end she was always ready to sing a song.
Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Anne, her sister Diane, and two of her children, Michelle and Michael.
She is survived by her husband, Jack Fuson, her siblings Dolly (Les) Staley, Tom (Carol) Knebl, Tim (Linda) Knebl, Tony (Beth) Knebl and their families.
She is also survived by her children, Cheryl (Cliff) Osborn, Lisa Cook and Christy (Chris) Pingle. Also by her grandchildren, Jamie Speer and family, Amber (Charlie) Coss and family, Cody (Katie) Cook and family, Courtney (Nathen) LaCount, Jordayn Cook and family and Colton Cook.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 4925 Boyne City East Jordan Road, East Jordan, MI 49727.
