Susan Joan Bowers Nichols

  Susan Joan Bowers Nichols, 57, of East Jordan, died on Saturday, July 31, 2021, at her home near East Jordan.

  She was born on December 17, 1963, in Charlevoix Township, the daughter of Donald Phillip and Shirley Jean (Hammontree) Bowers.

  On December 28, 2014, in East Jordan, she married Kurtis R. Nichols.

  Susan enjoyed bowling, playing billiards and her array of animals.  Most of all, she loved and enjoyed her time with her three daughters and all of her grandchildren.

  She is survived by her husband, Kurtis R. Nichols of East Jordan; three daughters, Cheltzi (Denzil) Wilson of East Jordan, Brieann (Brad) Carey of East Jordan and Rebecca (Paul) Brusse of East Jordan; nine grandchildren, Avary Wilson, Brady Wilson, Blake Carey, Dawson Carey, Easton Carey, Jayden Brusse, Koltyn Brusse, Lillie Brusse and Jaylyn Brusse; three sisters, Donna (Greg) Huryk of Muskegon, Brenda K. (Tracy) Malpass of East Jordan and Diane “Dee” (Robert) Hawley of East Jordan; eight nieces; and three nephews.  Susan was preceded in death by her daughter, Michele Thorman, and her parents.

  A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 5, 2021, at 11:00 A.M. at the Penzien Funeral Homes, Inc., East Jordan, Michigan.  Rev. Bart Adams will officiate.  The family will receive friends on Thursday morning from 10:00 A.M. until service time.
