Thomas “Tom” Galmore, Jr. Obituary

Thomas C. Galmore, Jr., 78, peacefully passed away and went home to be with his Lord Jesus on October 14, 2024. He was born on February 27, 1946, in Charlevoix County to Thomas Sr. and Annabell (Ostrander) Galmore. Tom graduated from East Jordan High School in 1964.

On June 19, 1965, Tom married Carol S. Chase, and together they raised their family in East Jordan for 36 years. In the summer of 2014, Tom and Carol retired to Florida.

Tom and his father, Thomas Sr., owned and operated Galmore’s Incorporated along with his son David until Tom retired in 2006. Tom enjoyed a variety of hobbies, including woodworking, snowmobiling, motorcycle riding, boating, and camping. One of his favorite pastimes was traveling to Canada for fishing trips. He also loved playing cards and assembling puzzles. Above all, Tom cherished spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Tom was a caring, loving, and devoted man, and those who knew him will miss him dearly. He is now in heaven, free from pain and surrounded by peace.

He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Carol (Chase) Galmore; sons Thomas C. III (Danielle) Galmore and David A. (Teresa) Galmore; and daughter Christine M. (John) McGill. He is also survived by his six grandchildren and his sisters, Beth Prebble and Shari (Dan) Nachazel; his sister-in-law, Mary Galmore and several nieces and nephews.

Tom was preceded in death by his daughter, Brenda Sue; his parents, Tom and Annabelle Galmore; and his brother, James Galmore, along with his brother-in-law, Ray Prebble.
