Ursula Bell, beloved wife of John Michael Bell, Atwood MI, was born in Neurnburg, Germany to Yohan Lobel and Emma Schwartz on Jan. 6, 1956, and died March 8, 2026, after a courageous 14-year life with on-going cancer treatments.
Ursula moved to the United States in 1973, with her first husband, Tim Malpass, who predeceased her.
Her children are Brian Timothy (Kim) Malpass of Petoskey, MI and Heidi Angela Malpass of Lewiston, MI. Ursula’s grandchildren are Austin, Devon, Brittany, Jessica, and Stella. Her great grandchildren are Andrew and Jaylynn.
Ursula was very family-oriented and supportive of her extended relatives. Ursula was the owner/operator of Bell’s Cleaning Service for the Belvedere Club in Charlevoix and co-owned Bell’s Cabins in East Jordan with her husband, John.
In addition to her husband John and descendants listed above, Ursula is survived by her sister, RoseMarie Browning of Brighton, CO, and her brothers, Heinze Lobel and Norbert Lobel of Germany. Her brother Claus Lobel and sister Geisla Lobelia of Germany predeceased her, as did her mother-in-law Ruth Darbee Bell of East Jordan.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Ironton Congregation Church, 3805 Washington Street, Charlevoix, Michigan.
