Vera Derenzy Obituary

Vera J. Derenzy, 92, of East Jordan, died Monday, June 7, 2021, at Grandvue Medical Care Facility in East Jordan.

She was born on December 22, 1928, the daughter of George and Mary (Weisler) Stanek.

On December 2, 1950, she married Archie Derenzy. He preceded her in death on April 9, 1984.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in East Jordan. Vera enjoyed word searches and watching TV.

She is survived by one sister, Elizabeth M. Ciszewski of East Jordan;

two granddaughters, Andrea (Brent) Seese and Michelle (Michael) Wright, both of East Jordan; six great grandchildren, Hannah Hall, Aiden Hall, Hudson Derenzy, Emma Wright, Nicholas Seese and Noa Wright; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son, Daniel L. Derenzy on November 26, 2006; and two brothers, Robert and Howard Stanek.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 11, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in East Jordan. Interment will be in Morehouse Cemetery in Echo Township, Antrim County, Michigan.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. with a rosary service at 7:30 P.M. at the Penzien Funeral Homes, Inc. in East Jordan.
