Walton Elbert Palmer, 77, of Onaway, died Monday, August 8, 2022, at his son’s home in East Jordan.
He was born on May 17, 1945, in Pontiac, the son of Chester and Phoebe (Smith) Palmer.
He worked as a mechanic at the Tulsa Public Schools in Tulsa, Oklahoma for many years. He moved back to Pontiac, then Mancelona, East Jordan and finally to Onaway.
He enjoyed tinkering with model cars and real cars in general. He also loved watching old western movies.
He is survived by two children, Jeffery Brandon Palmer of East Jordan and Kathy Jo Palmer of Battle Creek; grandson, Daniel Palmer of East Jordan; one sister, Mable Putnam of Onaway; and two brothers, Richard Palmer of Nevada and Clarence “Lumpy” Palmer of Marion, Indiana.
Memorial services are pending. Walton’s cremains will be interred at Perry Mount Cemetery, Pontiac, Michigan.
